Hot Actor Alert: British Hunk Tom Hardy

If you saw Inception this summer, you may have caught yourself checking out a lesser-known member of Leonardo DiCaprio's Dream Team: the pillowy-lipped British actor Tom Hardy. Hardy, 33, had a relatively small role in the film -- but even next to charismatic hotties like DiCaprio, Cillian Murphy and Joseph Gorden Levitt, he made a big impression. Thankfully, we'll all be seeing a lot more of him in the next few years! Here are a few of Hardy's upcoming Hollywood roles:

Reese Witherspoon's love interest. In This Means War, Hardy will battle a rival (played by all-American Star Trek hunk Chris Pine) for the affections of the adorable actress.

The new Mad Max. Hardy will take over the role made famous by Mel Gibson in Mad Max: Fury Road -- the fourth movie in the Mad Max series, and the first in 25 years.

A certain famous spy. No, not James Bond -- but close. Hardy will be starring in a movie version of the classic spy novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy, which has previously been adapted as a TV and radio show.

Batman's next villain. Rumor has it that Hardy will follow in Heath Ledger's footsteps, playing an evil role in the next Dark Knight film.

We'll have to wait until 2011 to see Tom Hardy begin his Hollywood takeover. Luckily, his extensive BBC filmography is available on DVD -- including a 2009 Masterpiece Theater version of Wuthering Heights, in which Hardy plays Heathcliff. Swoon!
